II) Trial Version Software System Tool:

The Trial version of the software system tool AdvDCSMT1DCSS (T1) V1 (Version 1) is Capability/Feature-Limited as compared to the Key Capabilities and Features of the Non-Trial version of T1 V1 [Standard-Licensed (Purchased)].

The Standard-Licensed T1 V1's Key Capabilities and Features are described in this website's 'AdvDCSM Key Capabilities and Features' webpage.

This Trial-Licensed T1 V1 can be used without charge for a Time-Limited (10 days) or Number of Uses-Limited (200 Uses, Maximum) Trial Period for whichever limitation comes first after first being installed on the appropriate single computer.

Only one (1) installation of the Trial T1 V1 (Software) is allowed. Upon expiration of this Trial Period, you shall discontinue immediately any and all use of the Software and you shall delete from your computer the electronic copies of the Software.

If you want to use the T1 after the Trial Period, you must purchase the Standard License for the complete version of the AdvDCSMT1DCSS for a charge from NSSyssoft. Use of AdvDCSMT1DCSS after the expiration of the above defined Trial Period without purchasing the Standard License from NSSyssoft is a violation of U.S. and international copyright laws (and is beyond the scope of the Trial End-User License Agreement).

This Trial version of T1 V1 supports (allows) the Modeling and Simulation of the following Digital Communication System processes (T1 Capabilities):

1) Convolutional Channel Coded Signaling [b = 1, bK <= 5 Non-Recursive (NR) Codes] over a Memoryless Single Channel;

2) UnCoded Signaling over a Memoryless Single Channel;

3) UnCoded Signaling over a Memory Single Channel; and

4) UnCoded Signaling over a Parallel MultiChannel.

The following Digital Communication System processes are not supported in this Trial version of T1 V1 but are supported in the Standard-Licensed T1 V1 & V2 (Version 2) (T1 Capabilities):

1) Convolutional Channel Coded Signaling (b = 1, 5 < bK <= 13 NR Codes) over a Memoryless Single Channel;

2) Convolutional Channel Coded Signaling (b = 2 & 3 NR Codes) over a Memoryless Single Channel;

3) Convolutional Channel Coded Signaling (b = 1, 2, 3 NR Codes) over a Memory Single Channel;

4) Convolutional Channel Coded Signaling (b = 1, 2, 3 NR Codes or b = 1 Orthogonal NR Codes) over a Parallel MultiChannel; and

5) Block Channel Coded Signaling over a Memoryless or Memory Single Channel or Parallel MultiChannel.

Also, this Trial version of T1 V1 limits the number of Bit Error Rate (BER) Plot Curves that can be created and displayed [i.e., only five (5) curves are supported while the T1 Standard version (version 1) supports six (6) BER Curves]. And a created BER Plot display cannot be saved as an output file (.PLT-BER) but the print option is available for print of this display at the time of this display's creation.

A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:

For b = 1 Convolutional Channel Coded Signaling over a Memoryless Single Channel Modeling and Simulation cases, the Channel Code Capabilities/Configuration Supporting Feature must be set to b = 1 CONVOLUTIONAL CODE CLASSES, and NOT b <= 3 CONVOLUTIONAL CODE CLASSES. The Design Menu provides access to this supporting feature.

This tool is especially valuable to the above described individuals who want to gain knowledge about and use the Viterbi Decoding Algorithm for application in Reliable Communications Systems.

More generally, this tool is for individuals who want to acquire knowledge and skill about the application of Computational Science and Engineering (Modeling and Simulation Theory) to the field of Digital Communication Systems Theory and Applications.

V) System Tool T1 Form of Implementation: Product Prototype

This tool is for prototyping Coding Systems and themselves are at the level of Product Prototype. This very powerful Software Computer-Based System Tool T1 was invented by an Expert in the fields of Intelligent Agent-Guided processes, Digital Comm Systems and Trellis-Coded Modulation Theories. He believes that T1 may be the "first of its kind" tool using an Intelligent Agent-Guided Human Machine GUI and Intelligent Agent-Based Reliability Validator to build very complex (structural and computational) Simulated System Digital Comm Models and to reliably obtain their Estimated BER Performance (simulation).

Specifically, T1 is a Digital Communication SYSTEM SIMULATOR whose implementation is at the level of a PRODUCT PROTOTYPE. Its intended goal/ purpose/design is to simulate reliably a variety of Digital Communication systems of varying complexity as described in the "AdvDCSMT1DCSS Key Capabilities and Features" section of this Web site. Its Capability (Operational Performance) is dependent on many complex interacting factors that involve the User's PC/Computer System components itself. The User must be cognizant of the limits of the User's Computer System.

Computational complexity (Simulation Time) for a Convolutional Channel Code System and its Simulated/Estimated Bit Error Rate (BER) Value and Confidence in this BER value is dependent on a number of complex interacting parameters. These parameters include the Total Number of Transmitted Information Source Bits, Signaling Channel characteristics (Vector or Discrete-Time) and Viterbi or MAP Algorithm Channel Decoder Trellis Size (Number of Trellis States and Branches).

For a Block Channel Code System, the Simulation Time is dependent on the Block Code Channel Decoder (Number of Block Code Words or Decoding List Size) along with the above described Source and Channel characteristics.

For a Turbo Channel Code System (T1 Version 2 feature), the Simulation Time is dependent on the Turbo Encoder Interleaver Type and Size; and the Turbo (Iterative) Algorithm Channel Decoder's component decoders' Trellis Size and the Number of Iterations performed by the Turbo Decoder along with the above described Source and Channel characteristics.

For a Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) Channel Code System, the Simulation Time is dependent on the Number of Code Bits, Complexity of the Code's Tanner Graph, and the Number of Iterations performed by the Sum-Product or Bit Flipping Algorithm Channel Decoder along with the above described Source and Channel characteristics.

Thus, the Simulation Time is User and PC System dependent and can be quite long (possibly days). It is very important to realize that the Upper Bound or Maximum (MAX) Value of a Simulated System Parameters is set to allow for Users to experiment with their Simulated System Choices (build and simulate) for their PC System.
